The feeling of being alone
That screaming pain which no one can hear
The four walls become like iron
The air around you thickens like a pillow
Deadening the sound

There is no painkiller that can dull the senses
Films, music, books
You try them all, try to immerse your mind
Distract it from the thoughts
But there is always just one corner
One neuron somewhere in your brain
That continually sounds the alarm
And pulls you back into reality

Out the window people pass
Oblivious to your existence
Too busy in their world
Too busy with their friends to care about you
Are you the only one in the world that feels this way?

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles…” 2 Corinthians 1:3 – 4 (NIV)
